CPR Anytime, Smyrna, Georgia, Emory Adventist Hospital

We have had several CPR Anytime classes in Smyrna. This is a SuperSmyrna sponsored initiative, but the real people behind this are the Emory Adventist Hospital on South Cobb Drive and the wonderful people at the Smyrna Fire Department. It is just one of the ways in which people all around Smyrna, Georgia are working together hand in hand to make life better, longer and safer for people in this community.

The CPR Anytime events are usually at 9 am to Noon, Fire Station 1 at Smyrna Fire Headquarters 2620 Atlanta Rd., Smyrna Ga. 30080.

Almost 80 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur at home and are witnessed by a family member. Only 6.4 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims survive because the vast majority of those witnessing the arrest are people who do not know how to perform CPR. CPR Anytime is a hands-only method of administering CPR developed by the American Heart Association. It takes less than an hour to learn this technique. CPR Anytime is a tool that can help increase survival rates in communities across the country. People who receive the CPR Anytime kits are able to share lifesaving skills with their loved ones by using the kit to train their entire family. Using a multiplier effect, studies have shown that for every single CPR Anytime kit used for training, an average of 2.5 people learn how to perform CPR. This is not a CPR Certification Course. This is free on a first-come, first-serve basis, but you must RSVP, which you can do here: RSVP.
