Teasley Art Auction, April 30, 2011
On Saturday, April 30, 2011 Teasley Elementary is holding its annual fund-raising event. This event is the largest fundraiser of the year for Teasley Elementary School, raising needed funds for a variety of essential items, in addition to those provided by Cobb County. Such items include curriculum materials, classroom and playground equipment, and other special enrichment programs. The event features dinner and a silent auction. All Teasley Elementary parents, staff, administration, community sponsors and other friends of the school are invited to participate in this special event.
We are requesting gift certificates or product/service donations from our neighboring businesses for the highlight of this event, the Silent Auction. Each donation will be featured in the Silent Auction area during the event to allow bidding by all event attendees. Following the event, we will once again highlight our Silent Auction contributors in a communication to the Teasley Elementary community.
Teasley Elementary PAWS Foundation is a 501(c)3 and all donations are tax deductible. Our tax identification number is #20-1761456 and a receipt will be provided to each business upon the conclusion of the event upon request. Recent Achievements
1. The Teasley After School Program provides a rich selection of programs for students. Leggo League, Robotics Team, Bucket Drummers, Step Club, Soccer, Computer, Jewelry Class, Test Prep, and different programs throughout the school year.
2. New playground equipment was added last year.
3. Teasley Elementary School was designated a Georgia School of Excellence in November 2009. This honor is given to twenty-four schools across the state of Georgia each year.
4. Teasley has very active and supportive parent organizations – PTA and PAWS Foundation. These two organizations collaborate in raising funds and planning activities for the Teasley Community. Funds raised go directly to support the school, staff and students.
5. Teasley has a wonderful chorus, the Teasley Treble Tones, which has almost 3rd-5th graders participating in this after school program. The Treble Tones perform throughout the community.
6. Teasley has an active Art Club for 4th and 5th grade students. These students create wonderful art work that is often times sold to raise funds for the school and club.
7. Currently Teasley has fourteen Partners in Education. These businesses work closely with the school to provide resources and support for the school.

Sunday, March 27, 2011 – Teasley Elementary School Grounds Cleanup – Volunteers are needed to weed, plant flowers, and lay pine straw around the front of the school and in the central courtyard. This will be the third project we have done with Teasley and it is always a pleasure working there. We will meet at the school and work from 1:00 PM until 4:00. Rakes, trowels, pine straw, and bedding plants are provided as well as refreshments. We recommend bringing a pair of work gloves. RSVP here at www.supersmyrna.com/rsvp.
