Smyrna’s Campbell Middle School is making great progress on its International Baccalaureate program application. All students at Campbell Middle School will be part of the program.
Latest Accomplishments
• AVID Program has approximately 120 students enrolled. This program actively encourages middle school kids to get on a college-bound track, has college field trips and much more.
• Campbell met AYP for 2 years consecutively and is no longer listed as a school in needs improvement
• Campbell is an Advanced Placement Certified School at the Affiliate level.
• Campbell is the first middle school in Cobb County to become a Community Partner with Camp Coca-Cola, a five year leadership program for eligible seventh graders.
• Campbell is an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme Candidate School.
• Campbell has two certified Master Teachers and two National Board Certified Teachers
• Tremendous academic gains were made in the number of students performing at level three exceed standards across all three grades
• 88.8% of all students are proficient in ELA/Reading & 75.6% are proficient in math
• Campbell is the only school that partners with a major corporation (Hewitt Corporation) for reading enrichment
• Campbell had the 2008-09 Cobb County Middle School Counselor of the Year.
• Campbell had the 2008-09 State School Social Worker of the Year.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Thursday, 4/1/10-Campbell Middle School will host the first annual Smyrna Art Showcase. Student artists from across Smyrna will display their best work between 7:00 – 9:00 PM and a select number will be chosen to compete for scholarship money at the state-level. Public is invited. Sponsored by Smyrna Golden K Kiwanis.
